Inmate Mail

The Jefferson Parish Correctional Center (JPCC) allows its inmates to receive mail. To send mail to an inmate, please include the name of the inmate at the time of incarceration, the inmates CCN number, the dorm number and the cell or bed number (if known) on the envelope. You may obtain this information by calling 504-368-5360.

Please note: All mail received by the Correctional Center is opened by JPSO Correctional employees in order to search for "contraband". Any item that violates Correctional Center "contraband" rules is subject to seizure, and will be disposed of.

Items Not Allowed

Inmates housed in the Correctional Center are not allowed to receive mail from other inmates (whether in Jefferson Parish Correctional Center or any another penal institution), commissary items, tobacco, blank stationary, stamps, envelopes, etc. All items received through the mail that are not allowed will be disposed of.

Items Allowed
Inmates may receive pictures; however the pictures cannot be taken with a Polaroid Instant Camera and cannot contain provocative or lewd images. Pictures that are not allowed will be disposed of.

Inmates may receive paperback books and approved magazines. Books and periodicals must be purchased and shipped from either a publisher or a bookstore. No newspapers or newsprint media are allowed, as the items create a serious fire hazard to the facility. Inmates are allowed to receive a maximum of 4 books.
