Gun Permits

LRS 40:1379.1.G allows the Sheriff to issue concealed handgun permits to citizens who live and/or work in Jefferson Parish. This permit is only valid within Jefferson Parish and does not permit the carrying of a concealed weapon outside of the parish. The permit is valid for 1 year and must be renewed annually.

All applicants must meet certain minimum requirements in order to be considered eligible for a Jefferson Parish Concealed Handgun Permit. View the following link to review these requirements.
Applications are available online or from our Gun Permits Section. For security purposes, applications must be delivered in person.

A $25 non-refundable processing fee must be paid prior to issuance of the permit. A $10,000 personal surety bond may also be required.
