Sergeant Steven Rabb is a 16 year veteran of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office in the Corrections Division. He attended the training academy and graduated 1998 and was promoted to Sergeant in 2001. Sergeant Rabb is responsible for care, custody and control of inmates during recreation and the escorting of the inmates to the recreation yard daily in a secure orderly manner. Recreation is a vital and necessary division at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center. The goals and objectives of correctional recreation are to provide an opportunity for inmates to channel and vent tension and negative feelings into positive productive time. This time also improves health and fitness and improves positive socialization skills. The recreation officers work with all inmates and maintain a zero tolerance environment, security and safety are the top priority.
