HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION IN MARREO

Sunday, August 18, 2013 12:14 AM

On August 17th, 2013, around 9:24 PM, our officers were dispatched to a subject shot in the 1000 block of Robinson Avenue in Marrero. First responding officers located a female victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside of a 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The vehicle was stopped in the middle of the street in front of 1013 Robinson Avenue. The victim, identified as Miquisha Nash, B/F, 19, of 3562 Vespasian Boulevard in New Orleans was transported to West Jefferson Medical Center where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Preliminary investigation by Homicide detective Melvin Francis revealed the victim was a passenger in the Monte Carlo being driven by her friend, Ronnie Videau, B/M, 25, of 4204 Teton Street in Marrero. Videau told investigators he and the victim were driving eastbound in the 5400 block of the Westbank Expressway in Marrero when an unknown burgundy colored van with unknown occupants, pulled alongside of them and began firing at them. Videau stated when he realized his friend had been shot, he put his vehicle in reverse and started backing up towards Robinson Avenue. While doing so, Videau stated the van continued driving eastbound. Upon reaching Robinson Avenue Videau turned South and sped away, stopping his vehicle in front of 1013 Robinson where he awaited for police and EMS.

We have no motive or suspect(s) at this time, anyone with information in this matter is asked to contact Detective Francis at 504-364-5300 or CRIMESTOPPERS.
