Assistance in Identifying Carjacking Suspect

Quinton Dupre

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's assistance in locating Quinton Dupre, 20, of Marrero, in reference to a carjacking incident that was reported last night (January 15, 2019) as having occurred in the 1100 block of S. Clearview Parkway.  Dupre is wanted for counts of armed robbery, second degree kidnapping, and illegal firearm possession by a convicted felon.

Yesterday afternoon around noon, Dupre contacted a female acquaintance and asked for a ride to a store in the 1100 block of S. Clearview Parkway.  She picked him up on the Westbank, and brought him to the store in Elmwood.  After conducting his business in the store, Dupre returned to the victim's vehicle and pulled a gun on her before demanding she drive him back to the Westbank.  The victim, a 23-year-old female, complied and brought him back to the Westbank.  While in Marrero, Dupre then demanded the victim's property and ordered her from the vehicle.  She complied, and Dupre fled with the vehicle.

At approximately 8:00 pm last night, the victim reported the incident to the Sheriff's Office.  The victim was able to immediately identify Dupre as the perpetrator as she has known him for several years.  The victim's vehicle was subsequently located abandoned outside of a Marrero apartment complex.

Anyone with information regarding the location of Quinton Dupre is asked to contact our Robbery Section at 504-364-5300 or contact Crimestoppers.
