Arrest of Serial Armed Robbery Suspect

Miguel Nami

Sheriff Joseph Lopinto announces the arrest of Miguel Nami, 22, of Metairie in reference to a string of armed robberies in the Metairie area.  Nami has been booked with three counts of armed robbery for the following incidents:

Smoothie King, 2701 Airline Drive, 5/22 at 5:51pm

Honey Baked Ham, 3211 N. Causeway, 5/23 at 4:36pm

Subway, 3841 Veterans Blvd., 5/24 at 8:39pm

In each instance, Nami entered the business and confronted an employee at gunpoint while demanding money.  He made away with an unidentified amount of cash from each location. Our investigators initially believed Nami was responsible for the Honey Baked Ham and Subway robberies, but evidence gathered at the time of his arrest linked him to the Smoothie King robbery as well.

Nami was identified following the Subway robbery last night, and was arrested at his residence in the 4000 block of Alberta in Metairie at around 9:30 pm, less than one hour after the Subway robbery.
