Sheriff Joseph Lopinto announces the arrest of Sean Ulbrich, 26, of Belle Chasse in connection with the aggravated burglary of the Terrytown Volunteer Fire Department station located in the 300 block of Heritage Avenue on February 8, 2018. Ulbrich was arrested at his home in Belle Chasse on Friday, February 23, 2018 following the execution of a search and arrest warrant with the assistance of the Plaquemine Parish Sheriff’s Office. During the search warrant, some of the stolen equipment was recovered, along with two firearms.At approximately 2:20 am on February 8, 2018, Ulbrich entered the fire station and removed a number of tools and other equipment. While inside, he brandished a firearm and pointed it at a door leading to the living quarters inside the station, likely after hearing movement inside another room. Our investigators processed the scene and were able to recover forensic evidence that led to the identification of Ulbrich.On Tuesday, February 20, we released still images and surveillance video of the incident to the local media. The video was widely shared through traditional and social media. We appreciate the efforts of all in helping us attempt to identify the individual responsible.
