Early Friday morning, September 8, 2017, our agency was contacted by members of the New Orleans Police Department as they believed a subject wanted by NOPD, Michael Meyers, was located in the 3100 block of White Street. Investigators secured the residence and attempted to make contact with those inside, and our SWAT Team was activated at approximately 9:00am.
We were able to make contact with individuals inside, three of whom, including a small child, peacefully exited the residence. A later search of the residence revealed that Meyers was not inside.
Meyers is a black male, 23 years old, and stands about 6' 2", weighing about 155 pounds. He has a tattoo of a cross on his forehead. He is wanted by the NOPD in connection with a 2nd degree murder and attempted 2nd degree murder. He is also wanted by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office in reference to an armed robbery.
NOPD is also looking for Jamal Horton, B/M, 24, in connection with the same 2nd degree murder offense. It is not believed that Horton was on White Street this morning.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Meyers or Horton is asked to call the New Orleans Police Department at 504-658-5305 or contact Crimestoppers.
