Deputy Sebrina Howard has been chosen as the Deputy of the Month for the 2nd District. Deputy Howard was honored in part for her relationship with the community and outstanding knowledge of the troublemakers she encounters -- even down to being able to identify a possible perpetrator of a drug offense from a picture message she received while on vacation. Normally we would write up a summary of her efforts for the month, but in this case, we are not going to do much better than her supervisor, Sergeant Jeff Melle :
"Often Deputies receive recognition based only on the amount of arrests they make or how many reports they write, and the unseen efforts forming a relationship with the community through conversations and positive citizen interaction go unnoticed. It is these relationships that shine the JPSO in a positive light and show the citizens of Jefferson Parish that we truly care about their safety and quality of life. The knowledge and relationships that Deputy Howard has formed are a testament to the outstanding work ethic that Deputy Howard displays every day. It makes me very proud when I speak with residents, and they tell me about how Deputy Howard always take time to stop and talk with them. I am honored to be able to work with her on a daily basis."
Thank you Deputy Howard! Keep it up!
