Sheriff Newell Normand announces the arrest of Allen Joseph, W/M, 55, of Metairie, for 3 counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles for an incident that occurred over the weekend at Allen's residence in the 1300 block of N. Sibley.
Our detectives learned that on August 5-6, 2017, Joseph hosted a party at his residence for 3 juveniles. During that party, Joseph supplied the juveniles with alcohol and allowed them to become severely intoxicated.
After it was reported to the Sheriff's Office, investigators were able to locate and interview Joseph. He was initially cooperative and admitted to supplying the victims with alcohol, but invoked his right to counsel when asked to provide a full statement in reference.
Our detectives learned that Joseph has been a coach and referee at a number of JPRD playgrounds for approximately 40 years. We are concerned that there may be additional victims of inappropriate behavior that have yet to be identified given this long history of access to potential victims.
We are asking that anyone with information regarding Joseph, any additional offenses, or this incident call Detective Judd Harris of our Criminal Investigations Bureau at 504-364-5300 or contact Crimestoppers.
