Deputy Stan Kerr was selected as the Deputy of the Month for the Third District. Deputy Kerr is one of the more senior deputies on his shift, and serves an an acting supervisor whenever needed. He was described by his supervisor as "an invaluable asset to our shift".
He was honored as the Deputy of the Month after his involvement in a number of incidents of note through the month, including being responsible for 8 felony arrests. Several of those arrests came after Deputy Kerr worked with National Park Service Park Rangers in a case of a group luring an individual into the National Park and attacking him in retaliation for a previous alleged offense. Deputy Kerr also recovered a firearm during this investigation.
Deputy Kerr was also responsible for the identification and arrest of a confessed burglar who victimized his own family, and recovered stolen firearms as part of that investigation.
A vehicle pursuit which became a foot pursuit and resulted in the arrest of two previously convicted felons was another incident successfully handled by Deputy Kerr. After bailing out of a vehicle they crashed, the suspects fled on foot before being apprehended in possession of two firearms, at least one of which was stolen.
Please join us in congratulating Deputy Kerr and thanking him for his efforts in keeping our streets safe.
